Sundaram Steels is planning to expand sponge iron capacity at Balidih in Bokaro district of Jharkhand.
The capacity will be augmented from 54,000 tpa to 1,74,000 tpa. The project will entail an investment of Rs 159 crore. The project will include products like induction furnace with a capacity of 1,80,000 tpa, rolling mill with a capacity of 1,74,000 tpa and captive power plant with a capacity of 24 MW.
As per the latest development available with Projects Today, Sundaram Steels is awaiting environment clearance (EC) for the project. The work on the project is expected to commence by December 2019. |
