Procurement News Notice

PNN 21013
Work Detail The Hungarian regulator NMHH has finalised and published the documentation for a national DTT tender following a consultation with market players. In a statement, it says there is no substantial change from an earlier draft and candidates have until April 30 to apply. It adds that the main requirement is that the winner of the tender must ensure that public service TV and radio channels remain unchanged, even without subscriptions, and have a minimum coverage of 97% by 2020. The winner will be able to build and operate five networks (two DVB-T, MPEG-4 and three new DVB-T2, HEVC networks with the same technology) from September 6, 2020 for 12 years. The results of the tender are expected to be announced in June. DTT services have been operated in Hungary by Antenna Hungaria since 2008. It currently provides 12 FTA and 47 pay-TV channels, along with four public service radio stations, and its network operation licence expires on September 5, 2020.
