PNN 20693
Work Detail Gijon-based Duro Felguera (DF) has signed a contract with BP to manufacture 12 oil and gas extractors for an offshore platform in Azerbaijan. Duro Felguera said that the contract by BP was awarded to its subsidiary DF Calderería Pesada (DFCP). According to the company, the twelve oil and gas extractors will be installed on an offshore platform in the Caspian Sea, from where hydrocarbons will be extracted at a depth of 140 meters. The scope of the work by DFCP includes the design and manufacture of the pressure vessels. In addition to the mechanical design, the scope also includes the process design and supply of special internal parts. The company added that the platform would presumably come into operation in 2023 and have a processing capacity of 100,000 barrels of crude oil and 9 million cbm of gas per day. Although Duro Felguera did not disclose the name of the platform, it is worth noting that BP’s Azeri Central East (ACE) platform, a part of the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) project, will start production in 2023. According to BP data, the ACE platform will be connected to the existing Azeri East and Azeri Central platforms with output set to reach a plateau production of 100,000 barrels, like the platform referred to by DF. BP operates the ACG project with a 30.37% stake. Other shareholders include SOCAR (25%), Chevron (9.57%), Inpex (9.31%), Equinor (7.27%), ExxonMobil (6.79%), Turkish Petroleum (5.73%), Itochu (3.65%), and ONGC (2.31%).
