Work Detail |
Construction on Highway 89 beginning at Highway 46 west of Stamford and extending four miles east of Stamford is expected to begin Monday, weather permitting. According to a Department of Roads press release, significant work through April 2017 includes partial construction of two triple box culverts and one quintuple box culvert to replace a bridge. Temporary roads will be constructed over each segment allowing for bridge demolition and completion of the box culverts. Travel through this segment will be maintained with traffic signals and signs. Delays are expected to minimal. A 10-foot width restriction will be implemented on Highway 89 during the bridge replacement stage. Other work includes rehabilitation of the existing pavement, followed by a 3-inch asphaltic concrete overlay, grading, shoulder construction and erosion control. Work on the project is expected to be completed by fall 2017. Vontz Paving Inc. of Hastings has the $4,238,220 contract. |
