Work Detail The world’s largest thin-film power solution company, Hanergy Thin Film Power Group today announced it has finished its first HanTile project in the Groningen province of the Netherlands. Continuing the momentum of its “building for the future” sustainability project, the clean energy giant partnered with Van Wijnen Gorredijk, a Netherlands construction company, to apply 46 units of the company’s innovative BIPV [building-integrated PV] product, the double glass HanTile, onto two buildings at the Suiker Unie sugar factory. Hanergy supplied 12.5 kW of HanTile capacity which can generate 9,800 kWh of electricity per year. Hanergy Netherlands CEO Li Ming: “We are delighted over the successful completion of our first HanTile project in [the] Netherlands, and we look forward to working on more significant projects with Van Wijnen Gorredijk. While this is only our first pilot project in [the] Netherlands, we’re confident that our innovative BIPV product, HanTile, will surely do well in [the] Netherlands’ market.” Thanks to the HanTile, the Van Wijnen Groningen project’s energy consumption is very low, and the curved HanTile makes the brick buildings look more attractive. Making use of Hanergy’s advanced installation technology, the project was finished within a week, and has received credit from the clients. Launched in 2017, the HanTile perfectly combines one of the world’s most efficient solar chips and aesthetics, while bringing a greener life to traditional buildings. Last year, with the debut of the single-glass layer HanTile, Hanergy further lightened the product’s weight and extended its application uses. In July, the company completed its first HanTile project in Stockholm, Sweden – a 36 kW high-end villa rooftop project. In the Netherlands, Hanergy’s thin-film solar technology and products have been used in various projects. For instance at the AFAS stadium, home of Eredivisie football club AZ, 1,725 pieces of thin-film modules produced by Hanergy subsidiary MiaSolé have been installed on the roof, helping the football club engage with sustainability. Hanergy’s solar cells have set a world record for conversion efficiency several times, with the latest landmark 29.1%. Hanergy launched and upgraded a handful of consumer products last year, including the Humbrella solar-powered umbrella; the SolarTank backpack; and the HanPower solar power bank. Subsequently, with the debut of the HanTile in April and HanWall in September, Hanergy upped the ante in global BIPV. Hanergy recently claimed first ranking for solar and 78th overall – up from 91st – on the China’s TOP500 Most Valuable Listed Companies list released by 21 Data News Laboratories. The company has recently inked strategic agreements with partners from Australia, Japan, Vietnam, Switzerland, Paraguay, Chile, Oman, Egypt and other countries, marking its entry onto the global market. Collaborating with Bollore Group, Boeing Group, TAM and China’s local express delivery companies, Hanergy has found wider applications for thin-film solar power technologies. Its solar modules were chosen by NASA for international space station testing, to evaluate Alta’s technology for future NASA low-Earth orbit missions, including powering CubeSats. Constant breakthroughs in the sector have led to a steady surge in Hanergy’s market value. Further, Hanergy’s “mobile energy +” model is well in place to promote in-depth integration of mobile energy and traditional industries, and will result in huge market demand, new business models and potential innovation.
