Work Detail COMPANY. On Wednesday, December 5, an agreement was created for the installation of the simulation software Bruno, which has been granted for academic purposes only for students and professors of the institution. 24 licenses of use were considered, which will be installed in each one of the computers of the School of Metallurgical Engineering. These licenses will be valid for a period of one year, with the possibility of renewal. The Bruno software allows the modeling and simulation of crushing through a computer program that allows engineers to perform the measurements in a few seconds. Currently, the software is managed by Metso globally, contains a large database corresponding to Metso equipment and allows the simulation of the design of crushing circuits to determine a flow diagram that meets the objectives of tonnage and size of required product. In addition, it allows to recognize and determine factors of the grinding process from the feeding characteristics of the mineral coming from the mine, as well as the size and quantity of equipment to perform a specific job. Thanks to this simulator, the student will have the facility to change the parameters of the equipment and test its impact on production. Likewise, it contributes to establish qualitative logical relations of the impact of moving parameters and variables of the crushing process on the productivity of the circuit. A ceremony was held in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, José Corimanya, and the director of the School of Metallurgy, Santiago Valverde, and on behalf of Metso, was attended by the Senior Manager of Business Development, Pablo Ludeña, and the IT team. At the end of the day, the National Engineering University awarded a diploma to Metso Peru in recognition of the academic support consisting of the use of Bruno Software for students. For Metso it is very important to strengthen ties with academic centers, since in this way we disseminate and share our knowledge for the development of future mining professionals. This has been an initiative that we have long sought to develop with the universities and, in the future, we hope to conclude more agreements of this type with other universities both in Lima and in the provinces , mentions Pablo Ludeña, Senior Manager of Business Development of Metso Peru . The next step for Metso is to provide the Faculty of Metallurgy of the UNI, a simulation session of practical cases in crushing circuits, including the use of rotating crushers, jaws, conical, zarandas, and others, both in conventional crushing circuits primary to quaternary as in crushing pebbles in grinding circuits SAG.
