Pentair has signed a definitive agreement to acquire water treatment equipment and solutions provider Aquion for $160m.
Aquion provides a variety of water treatment devices including conditioners, filters, drinking-water purifiers, ozone and ultraviolet disinfection systems to residential and commercial water treatment industry.
The company also manufactures reverse osmosis systems and acid neutralisers.
Aquion president and CEO Michael Madsen said: “This will allow Aquion to build on its strengths within an organisation that is also committed to creating solutions that make water softer and more economical to use and consume across both the residential and commercial industries.”
The acquisition of Aquion, along with the addition of its affiliated dealer network, will strengthen Pentair’s value chain in residential water portfolio.
It will also enable the acquirer to offer additional choices to the customers and meet their water treatment requirements.
Pentair president and CEO John Stauch said: “This planned acquisition is a significant component of our strategy to be closer to the residential consumer by allowing us to offer turnkey water conditioning solutions through Aquion’s network of affiliated dealers.
“Aquion’s strong portfolio of residential and commercial water systems, combined with Pentair’s technical expertise in water treatment technologies, will position us to expand our scope and customer offerings in the residential and commercial water treatment arena.”
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and necessary regulatory approvals and is expected to close this quarter.
Separately, Pentair signed a definitive agreement to acquire Pelican Water Systems. |
