Brune Poirson, Secretary of State to the Minister of State, Minister of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, Arnaud Leroy, President of ADEME and Jean Hornain, Director General of Citeo announce today the launch of a call for events of interest (AMI) to put in place innovative packaging and paper collection solutions to encourage and facilitate the sorting process. The government is committed to 100% recycled plastics by 2025. Today, however, less than half of French people systematically sort their packaging. Yet there is no small gesture. Because the collection of packaging is the condition of recycling, a major lever for saving resources and limiting CO2 emissions. As efficient recycling is first and foremost a result of efficient collection, the government wants to test new devices to make the daily lives of French people easier. Today, some territories manage to collect massively their packaging, others have low levels of performance (dense urban centers, collective habitats, tourist communities, ultra marine territories). The call for expressions of interest launched today aims to provide these territories with new solutions that they can test life-size. Citeo, ADEME and the Government are teaming up to help technically and financially project leaders (communities, companies, associations, social housing agencies, ...) wishing to boost their collection momentum. At the initiative of Brune Poirson, the projects will have a solidarity dimension. Convinced that the association with environmental or solidarity causes is likely to strengthen the mobilization of each citizen, the additional tonnages collected in this solidarity framework will be converted into donations donated to local or national associations. Its about revealing the solidarity and environmental dimension of the sorting gesture. The first projects funded and labeled innovative collection will be known next spring. At the national level Citeo will finance an envelope of 6 million euros for about twenty projects. The ADEME will contribute to the evaluation of these new solutions and will abound the endowments for the associations. At the launch of this call for expressions of interest, some of the innovative collection tools will be presented to the Ministry of the Ecological and Solidarity Transition. For Brune Poirson: Innovative collection and solidarity is more collected packaging, more recycling, it is less pollution of our environment and less imported oil. It is the circle of the virtuous economy in which France is fully committed with the publication of its roadmap for the circular economy. It acts the dynamics of general mobilization which is concretized today and which gives full meaning to the ecological and solidarity transition. For Arnaud Leroy, President of ADEME Each of us has a role to play in the transition to a circular economy, through our purchasing behavior and use of products and trying to sort out as much as possible. waste for recycling. With this call for expressions of interest, we will encourage initiatives that offer new solutions to the citizen to encourage and facilitate the sorting process! . For Jean Hornain,When 100% recyclable packaging is in place and all the infrastructure to treat it is in place, we have to capture it all. But many still escape us today. Our country is full of innovative initiatives that can significantly improve our collection system. The initiative we are taking to fund these innovative projects will test them and identify those that deserve to be replicated on a large scale. |
