Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Thursday issued a royal decree appointing Dr. Ghassan bin Abdulrahman Al-Shibal as Chairman of the Board of Local Content and Government Procurement. In the following lines, URGENT monitors the CV of the Chairman of the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority: Dr. Ghassan bin Abdulrahman Al-Shibal was a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, King Saud University (1982-1983). He worked as director of the follow-up department of the Ministry of Interiors Planning and Follow-up Department between 1983 and 1990. He worked as a deputy head of operations at the Advanced Electronics Company for the period 1990-1994. He took over all manufacturing and maintenance work including industrial engineering, inspection engineering, production planning and control as well as the responsibilities of developing the Kingdoms technical capabilities in this field. He held the position of Executive Vice President for the company for the period 1994-1997. The responsibilities of this position include all the executive departments of the company including operations management, manufacturing, procurement, computer, facilities, administrative affairs, quality and quality. He was appointed general manager of the Advanced Electronics Company for the period from 1997 to 2002 and was responsible for all the companys daily operations. He was appointed first vice president and general manager of its communications systems unit for the period 2002 - 2003. He was then appointed Managing Director and CEO of the Saudi Research and Marketing Group, He headed the Board of Directors of the General Organization of Saudi Arabian Airlines (1438 e). He holds a bachelors degree in civil engineering from King Saud University with an excellent grade with honors in 1982. He received a masters degree in engineering management from George Washington University in the United States of America in 1986 with a cumulative average of 4 and obtained a PhD in Engineering Management from George University. Washington in the United States of America in 1990, and received the Prince Bandar bin Sultan Award for scientific excellence. Dr. Al-Shebel has other scientific experience, including a diploma in manufacturing management from the IMD Institute in Switzerland in 1991, a Diploma in Technology Management in Japan from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1992 and an Advanced Management Program Certificate from Harvard University in 1996. |
