Work Detail Two years of reconstruction of the Bruntal wastewater treatment plant is over. The challenge was both technically and financially. Up to its renewal and modernization Bruntál invested more than 34 million crowns. The original Bruntal Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) was designed already in 1971 and completed more than thirty years ago - in 1986. Over the past two years there have been two major reconstructions, respectively two stages, aimed at ensuring the required quality of the treated wastewater . Within the framework of these phases, the construction and replacement of the already inadequate technological equipment, the electromotor installation and the system of measurement and regulation of the reconstructed parts of the building were carried out. The third stage of the modernization of the Bruntál WWTP was launched in September 2016. It resolved the reconstruction of the remaining parts that had passed the previous stages. Specifically, the refurbishment and modernization of the sludge pumping station, the concentration of excess sludge, digestion tanks, storage tanks, gas jets, sludge drainage, boiler rooms and transformer stations. The repair was demanding. Even though the project was well prepared, its implementation did not go uncomplicated. Some deficiencies occurred only during the construction work. Their removal caused the deadline for completion of the reconstruction and the increase of the investment compared to the original plan .
