In many regions of Russia on September 15, the "Clean Coast" campaign took place within the framework of the All-Russian Ecological Subbotnik. Employees of the branch "Baltika-Khabarovsk" also did not stand aside and together with numerous volunteers went to clean up the territory of part of the coast line in the area of ??the plant "Amurkabel" and the adjacent water protection zone. Representatives of Baltika offered to sort the waste by types, in order to send them for recycling later.
The volunteers spent about two hours cleaning the large territory from the Amur coast and almost to Pavlo Morozov along Artemovskaya Street. Among the large-sized debris found car tires, barrels, in addition, volunteers collected more than one hundred bags of 120 liters of waste. All bags were marked with appropriate stickers, which indicated the type of waste. From the cleaning site, nearly 70 bags with PET bottles, glass and aluminum cans were sent to garbage processing plants. The procurement specialist for the Baltika-Khabarovsk branch, Maria Kovaleva, noted that most of the waste collected on the banks of the Amur by volunteers is used packaging, which people irresponsibly throw out at the site of their vacation. Maria expressed her hope that in the near future in Russia the sorting of waste will become mandatory for everyone, which will make the streets of cities much cleaner. Meanwhile, waste sorting at Baltikas enterprises takes place daily on a mandatory basis. Containers for separate garbage collection are installed throughout the Baltika-Khabarovsk plant, including an office building and production facilities: cardboard, paper, plastic, polyethylene and PET bottles, aluminum cans and glass are collected. All these waste are sent for processing and receive a second life. Sector operators, Baltikas partners, transport the assembled packaging to enterprises where these wastes become raw materials for the manufacture of various products. Baltika actively works to attract other enterprises and residents of Russian cities to the separate waste collection procedure, where the company is implementing the project "Bring the Citys Benefit" (including Khabarovsk, Irkutsk and Blagoveshchensk). "Baltika" invests in the installation of special containers for separate collection of garbage. These containers are installed not only near public catering establishments, shopping centers, hotels, but also in the courtyards of residential buildings. Volunteer Irina Sotnikova said that a container of green color with the inscription "For glass and aluminum cans" is located in a neighboring yard, not far from her house. She places empty containers there, but at the same time she notes that very few residents of the district act in this way. Meanwhile, Irina tries to talk to friends and others about the need to collect and sort waste, attracts them to participate in subbotniks. She believes that only this way there is an opportunity to understand what a huge amount of garbage is produced by people, and how to reduce the amount of waste, thanks to separate collection and sending for processing |
