The General Health Insurance Company will terminate on 1 January next year a contract for PR consultancy with Medea Kultur associated with the condemned lobbyist Roman Janousek. Next year, the insurance company also ends a contract for printing services with the Tender Consortium associated with the accused North Bohemian entrepreneur Tomáš Horácek.
VZP director Zdenek Kabátek stated at a press conference after meeting of the board of directors of the insurance company that the contract with the Tender Consortium was concluded on the basis of a standard public contract. According to him, the company offered the lowest price. Other contracts will be audited by an external audit commissioned by the Board of Directors, Vera Adakova (for YES).
The agreement with Medea Kultur for 12 million crowns annually was signed by the insurance company in 2002. "It was signed without the possibility of termination. She has gone through three additions, and the current management has managed to conclude that the contract is forgivable. Before that, it would have to go legal, which would be disadvantageous for VZP, "explained Adámková.
The contract with the Tender Consortium was concluded for four years, ending next year. "The performance of the contract lies in the production of printed matter. Its a framework contract, every press is assigned to the price, and weve internally assessed that theres no problem, "he added.
The company is part of the entrepreneur Horáceks network, which allegedly influenced the allocation of orders in hospitals. State Hospitals with its companies have signed contracts for more than 350 million crowns in two years.
Police officers have audited public procurement, for example, to guard objects, supply hygienic needs, or purchase cars. They accused ten people and two companies. Besides Horácek, for example, the dismissed director of the Bulovka Hospital, František Novák, his predecessor Andrea Vrbovská or the director of the hospital Na Františku Robert Zelenák, who had already resigned for the accused.
The Board of Directors of VZP, which has been in a new composition since this years autumn parliamentary elections, has been preparing an external audit since April to review all contracts for the last four years. According to Adama, the agreement is about 36,000. "At todays board of directors, the director of the VZP was committed to the fact that the audit would be listed shortly," she explained on Monday.
