This years plan is bigger than the one in the previous years, which witnesses the change in the way of managing this profitable state-owned company
Airports of Montenegro (ACG) will spend a total of 8.83 million euros this year for purchasing goods, payment of services and execution of works, reads the public procurement plan ACG published on the website of the Public Procurement Directorate.
Of that, 7.12 million euros will be allocated for the purchase of new equipment, while 874.500 will be allocated for works, and for services 838.500 euros. This years public procurement plan of the ACG is significantly higher than those of the previous years, which testifies to a drastic change in the way that this profitable state-owned company was taken over by Danilo Orlandic (SD) last year as the executive director. He succeeded his senior party colleague Milovan Djurickovic, who would be known for trying to reduce the cost of ACG equipment to a minimum. Djurickovics approach resulted in the fact that ACG raised about 25 million euros cash in its accounts, but at the same time the company suffered great criticism due to poor conditions for passengers and employees, especially at the airport in Tivat.
For that reason, the government formalized the idea that the airports should develop and modernize the airports in Tivat and Podgorica in the long-term lease to a foreign partner who would, at the sight of the Cabinet of Prime Minister Dusko Markovic, quickly and without consequences for the state treasury. With that, they disagree in SD whose staff manages ACG, so they brought Orlandic to the forefront of the company last year, which needs a new managerial approach, in practice proving that the airports can be adequately developed with their own money and be very successful and state-owned.
The first hint of change in the way ACG guides this years ambitious public procurement plan, in which some of the items that Djurickovic avoided earlier in years, especially when the Tivat airport is concerned, are also figuring.
ACG plans to acquire a significant amount of state-of-the-art new contradictory equipment for security controls of luggage, goods and passengers this year for almost a million euros, which will be installed on both airports. In addition to the renewal of the existing equipment, the procurement of devices will also be planned for the new annexes of both the airports that ACG intends to build as temporary facilities, in order to increase the capacities and capacity of small terminal buildings in the fastest possible way just before the tourist season. at airports, especially in Tivat.
This year, ACG will also purchase a new ambulance worth 180,000 euros, self-propelled and towed stairs for boarding passengers on the planes for 850,000 euros, a GPU aggregate for the supply of aircraft on a 220,000-euro platform platform, a new bus for passenger transport to aircraft 350 thousand euros, a vehicle for supplying an airplane with 80 thousand volumes, a self-propelled air compressor for starting aircraft engines worth 220 thousand euros, a 330-passenger toll-service vehicle, a 52 thousand ambulance vehicle ... For the procurement of working clothes and uniforms for ACG staff, for which they also had objections for years, ACG will spend over 300,000 euros this year, and finally they are included in the procurement plan and some financially relatively modest, but air ports require things such as lasers and sound devices to disperse birds from the runway. The largest single item among the planned procurement of new equipment is the purchase of two special heavy airport fire trucks, totaling 1.1m euros. One such vehicle will receive airports in Tivat and Podgorica in order to meet the needs posed by the growing volume of air traffic and the introduction of larger types of aircraft into charter and regular traffic on Montenegrin airports. Apart from this, Tivat Airport will also receive a new command fire truck and vehicle for the runway.
