US-based oil and gas firm Navitas Midstream Partners has awarded a contract to Honeywell’s UOP Russell business for the delivery of a cryogenic gas processing plant. With a daily nameplate capacity of 200 million cubic feet, the plant will assist Navitas Midstream in removing natural gas liquids (NGLs) from gas produced from several counties in the Midland Basin. According to the contract, Honeywell will design and supply a UOP Russell modular cryogenic plant with refrigeration and dehydration units. The cryogenic plant features a Honeywell UOP MolSiv unit, which has the ability to remove impurities and water to ensure high gas quality. “We’re delivering a plant that’s designed for the rich feed gas composition in the basin and that recovers NGLs at high rates with consistently high uptime.” According to Honeywell, the plant design is customised to accommodate the NGL-rich gas in the Midland Basin. Honeywell UOP Russell general manager Neil Eckersley said: “Navitas Midstream has selected UOP Russell technology because we can customise pre-engineered equipment, which speeds delivery and assures greater reliability and familiarity with the units. “We’re delivering a plant that’s designed for the rich feed gas composition in the basin and that recovers NGLs at high rates with consistently high uptime.” Cryogenic gas processing plants cool natural gas until the heavier and more valuable NGLs are converted into liquids such as propane, ethane and butanes. The company noted that the plant’s low capital and operating expense, as well as high NGL recovery, will allow Navitas to meet producer processing needs.
