Director General of the Municipality of the Northern Region Lamia Al-Fadala said that the current direction of the municipality is aimed at involving the private sector in the development and management of a number of parks through bidding with investors to reduce maintenance and operating costs and increase revenues.
Al-Fadala told Al-Ayyam in the first press conference after her appointment in her new position that the total value of the projects that the Northern Region Municipality seeks to implement during the year 2018 is about 400,000 Bahraini Dinars, which was determined by the Ministry of Finance for the year 2018.
The Municipality of the Northern Region issued 11603 service licenses during the first half of 2018, including 4453 approvals for various business activities, 1786 advertising licenses and 5364 title certificates and metal plates.
As for the various maintenance work carried out by the municipality, Al Fadala said: "The maintenance budget is about 150 thousand dinars annually, including the gardens located within the northern province, and includes the work of simple additions and maintenance and care of the plantations and aesthetic elements.
She added: "The municipality of the northern region is taking many measures to preserve the gardens, and do so in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the people and other national societies, and placed security cameras in 22 parks during the current year.

The work teams in the municipality of the northern region have been able to remove about (2301 violations) 88% of the total violations. The municipality carries out the removal campaigns in many cases in cooperation with the concerned authorities such as the Ministry of the Interior, the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism. Removal is ongoing.
Locations of concentration of violations differ from one offense to another.
