"The acquisition of off-road vehicles suitable for Latvian territory with a wide range of operational applications is a logical step towards strengthening the tactical mobility of the units of the National Armed Forces. I am truly proud of such long-term investment, which will significantly contribute to the fulfillment of operational tasks, "says Lieutenant General Leonid Kalnins, Commander of the National Armed Forces. "We have joined this NATO Support and Procurement Partnership Partnership in order to increase the material and technical resources of the National Armed Forces and to use the international common procurement system of the NATO agency for supplying the armed forces," emphasizes the Commander of the National Armed Forces.
It is also planned to train the National Armed Forces mechanics in order to ensure the successful daily maintenance of vehicles.
It is planned that the first vehicles will be received by the National Armed Forces at the end of this year, and deliveries will continue until the end of next year.
In order to include goods in the NATO Support and Procurement Agencys Logistics System, the NATO Support and Procurement Agency organizes international procurement competitions following the gathering of procurement needs in the Member States.
