The plant will sell 150 MLD treated sewage water to PFC-funded Khaperkheda and Khoradi thermal power stations of Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd (MahaGenco). “The aim of this project is to reduce the stress on fresh sources of water for power generation by supplying the treated sewage water to power plants for specific secondary uses like ash handling and cooling,” PFC said in a statement. As part of the agreement, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will also get revenue share from the sale of treated sewage water to Mahagenco.
