The new Minister of Agriculture, Toman, promised to hire a thousand Roma to fight the bark beetle in the forests. This is roughly the way to describe the press release of the Ministry of Agriculture, taken over from Romea.cz . It is the answer to the letter and the subsequent meeting of the Association of Roma Entrepreneurs and Associations with the Ministries of Agriculture and the Environment to encourage the local Roma, instead of importing labor from abroad:
"We offer people as auxiliary forces, mostly employees of our member companies, or those who work on agreements for other companies and who are at labor offices," says President of the Association of Roma Entrepreneurs and Associations of the Czech Republic Vladimír Leško. our companies have gained jobs and orders straight away, not through expensive and disadvantageous intermediaries, " adds Leško .
Public contracts awarded directly to Roma companies are the dream of many of them even as the Czech Republic has passed the Public Procurement Act. The adoption of this Act was first a prerequisite for the Czech Republics accession to the EU in 2004 and then for drawing in the 2007-2013 programming period, when the last moment was successful in mid-2006. Since then, it is not possible for public entities, nota bene the ministries have just decided that some amount of funds will receive Romany (or any other) companies "directly" simply because they are associated in some, though publicly beneficial, groupings.
The Association of Roma Entrepreneurs and Societies, zs (ID No. 04711971), which appears to be "under the thumb" of a Roma firm, is not a registered employment agency to "offer employees". If she did, she commits an offense under Section 140 (1) b) or g) of Act No. 435/2004 Coll., on employment, for which it is liable to a fine of up to CZK 10 million. The same would apply to the provision of employment in forests to the unemployed, ie in the Labor Register.
