Record-breaking unemployment is worrying not only for businesses and entrepreneurs, but also for city and municipality representatives in the region. Public procurement prices are rising, or no one reports, because construction companies do not have people and capacities. Town halls also have to put up more and more investments.
Changes in the situation are well known, for example, in Prostejov. For example, when the local town hall was preparing a repair of one street and a pavement in the district of Žešov last year, it did not have to worry about the choice of the construction company or the finances.
"The final price of 4.8 million crowns that came out of the tender is about 20 percent lower than we expected. As part of the construction work , 274 meters of roads will be reconstructed, alongside sidewalks, drainage and public lighting, "explains Deputy Mayor Prostejov Zdenek Fišer at that time.
A year has passed and the situation has changed diametrically. For its actions, the City Hall of Prostejov now sees construction companies very complexly and some orders have to be completely canceled because no one has signed up for the competition. And prices are rising.
"This years remarkable. Nobody, or just one company, can sign up for the selection process. In the past, we were priced thirty percent lower than we had in the budget, and today companies want more money. About ten to twenty percent. It is building boom and companies are not running, "describes the deputys situation.
The selection procedure will rarely come out for the first time
For example, the reconstruction of the social background at the Skálová School in Prostejov had to completely postpone the town hall, because no one had entered the competition. The repairs of the pond in Krasice had to be carried out in the kahánku, where the town had to list the tender three times. At city council, it is now common to approve additional amounts for construction and repairs.
"These are events that competed this year, but the budget was made last year according to last years experience. After the tender, we could not sign the contract because there is no money, "the deputy explained.
The last example was the construction of a new terminal at the bus station in Prostejov. The original approved amount was CZK 8.5 million, but the tender was won by the firm, which offered the city a price of 9.7 million.
A similar situation is in nearby Prerov. "We have problems with building orders. Either we do not receive any offer, such as the Modernization and Building of Special Classrooms for Primary Schools, where it was necessary to repeatedly announce the competition. Or, the offer price is higher than the presumed value, "said the spokesperson of the Prerovský magistrát Lenka Chalupová.
This trend has been in place for several months, and the city has recorded a 10 to 15 percent rise in prices.
It is saved in Olomouc region. "According to the Department of Public Procurement, the increase in prices can not be quantified so far," spokeswoman Radka Štedrá said.

Construction companies from the Olomouc Region confirm that they have to choose carefully the contracts.
"We all know that there is low unemployment, and so there can not be enough labor on the market . In addition, I can confirm that this year saw a construction boom. That is why we can only go to those tenders where we have prepared capacities, "explained Michal Jurácek, head of R & G Zesta Prostejovs construction department.
At the end of May, the unemployment rate in the Olomouc Region was 3.3 percent, the lowest share of people without work since the establishment of the regional organization. The least unemployed were in Prostejov, 2.4 percent. Prostejov is also the only one in the region where the number of vacancies exceeded the number of unemployed.
"The growth of industrial zones in Prostejov helped to this extent. The city is already trying to earmark an adequate area for residential construction so that the ratio between the growth of jobs and the number of inhabitants will be balanced in the future, "said Deputy Fieser.
So far, nothing is valid. The number of free labor is now at zero in Prostejov.
"I hear from many companies that they have to renounce orders because they have no capacity. The shortage of people goes through all disciplines, but it is particularly evident in the construction industry.
