Work Detail June 28 (Renewables Now) - SBG Cleantech Ltd has bid for 1.8 GW of solar capacity in a tender launched by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) that was oversubscribed by 2.1 GW, Mercom Capital Group LLC reports. The sector consultancy quoted a SECI official as saying that the tender attracted a total of 5.1 GW of technical bids from 12 parties, against the 3 GW of Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected capacity that was sought. SBG Cleantech, which is a joint venture between Japan’s SoftBank Group Corp, India’s Bharti Enterprises Pvt and Taiwan’s Foxconn Technology Group, bid the most -- 1.8 GW. It was followed by ACME Solar (600 MW), ReNew Power (500 MW), Adani Green (300 MW) and Azure Power (300 MW). Mahindra, Spring Energy, Tata Power Solar and Hero Future Energies each bid for 250 MW, while ACB India, Canadian Solar and Mytrah Energy target 200 MW each. The official has noted that the maximum allowable capacity for a single bidder in this tender was increased to 1.8 GW from 750 MW, while the minimum was set at 200 MW.
