The project of the tillage of the agricultural lands, organized by the Foundation, was concluded at Bani Qais Governorate
General for Cereal Development and Production.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning for Projects Programming Sector, Dr. Ahmad Al-Babli, said that the establishment of the General Establishment for the Development of Cereal Production comes to activate the ministrys role in enhancing productivity from various food grains to food security. .
He pointed out that the Foundation has started its activities and activities in the governorates of Al-Jouf, Hodeidah, Hajjah, Dhamar and Ab as a first step to achieve the objectives for which it was established. Among these activities is the Al-Haritha project, which was implemented at the Bani Qais Bahjia Administration, which included the implementation of the tillage for about 300 hectares of agricultural land 70 farmers.
For his part, Undersecretary of the province of Hajja Mohammed Ali al-Qaisi pointed to the importance of the projects implemented by the Foundation and its role in encouraging farmers to grow grain, as well as their contribution to reduce the costs of production of grain crops, enabling farmers to continue to grow crops and competition in the local market.
He stressed the necessity of attention and care in the agricultural sector as one of the tributaries of the national economy to achieve food security and to self-sufficiency of grain crops, especially in the difficult circumstances experienced by the country as a result of aggression and siege.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Eng. Ahmed Al-Khalid, pointed out that the Al-Haritha project at the Beni Qais administration is one of the projects of the empowerment program based on the financing of the Foundation for farmers, which aims to reduce the cost of production and raise the quality of the crop against the supply of farmers. Al-Khalid reviewed the objectives of the tillage project, including encouraging farmers to continue planting grain, especially in the efforts to provide the market needs of grain of various kinds instead of importing from abroad, especially in light of the continued siege.
He pointed out that the intervention of the Foundation through the implementation of the tillage projects comes within the framework of reducing the burden on the farms and contribute to the process of tillage of the largest area of ??agricultural crops for grain, as the high costs of the tillage are limiting the expansion of cultivated areas of grain crops in the northern and central highlands .
The event included words in which the farmers expressed thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the General Corporation for Cereal Development and Production, which had a significant impact on helping farmers to plow their agricultural lands for the current agricultural season.
