The government is asked to improve the licensing system in the region. In addition, the exchange authority is expected to have a grievance mechanism for companies whose shares are listed in the bourse if they experience licensing barriers by officials in the region.The licensing sector is still a "land" for corruption of local officials. Quite a few cases of licensing corruption are handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Several cases of corruption in KPK handling sector are Mojokerto Regent Mustofa Kamal Pasa and Nur Alam inactive Southeast Sulawesi Governor.
Both are suspected of accepting bribes related to licensing. Mustofa is allegedly accepting bribery of License of Principle of Space Utilization and Building Permit for the construction of telecommunication tower in Mojokerto Regency Year 2015. Where, Mostofa case is currently still in the investigation stage.
Meanwhile, Nur Alams case was in the process of appealing after the Corruption Court of Jakarta sentenced 12 years in prison, a fine of Rp1 billion subsidy to six months in jail, as well as an additional Rp 2.7 billion substitute and a five-year lifting of political rights from the time of the sentence.
Nur Alam is considered to have committed corruption related to the issuance of mining permit (IUP) of PT Anugrah Harisma Barakah (HAB). A number of permits referred to are Decree (SK) of Mining Scheme Approval, IUP Exploration Approval, Approval of IUP Exploration Enhancement into Production Operation IUP to PT AHB as a company doing nickel mining in Buton and Bombana Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.
Coordinator of Budget Monitoring and Analysis Division ICW Firdaus Ilyas said corruption is not only related to government goods expenditure, but also related to licensing. The case of the Mojokerto Regent that has just been declared a suspect by the KPK for allegedly complicating the permission of about 11 companies that are forced to give gratification in order to operate the business in Mojokerto become the latest example.

Indeed, based on statistical data KPK, corruption sector procurement of goods and services is still much more than the corruption in the licensing sector. However, it can not be denied, corruption in the licensing sector also affects the interest of investors to invest in Indonesia.
