Engagement hopes to bring a 5-10% improvement to Verify completion rate per quarter and reduce time taken to connect services to identity assurance scheme
The Government Digital Service (GDS) is looking for digital support for six months to help drive back end software development around its Verify identity assurance scheme.
GDS wants to beef up the adoption of Verify through work on a series of technical projects with the goal of “making the project work better for citizens”. The work will include the design, installation, testing and maintenance of software systems, working in pair and mob programming as well as driving a 5-10% improvement to the Verify completion rate per quarter.
GDS says it requires four senior developers to increase back end software development to:
Reduce the time taken to connect services to Verify.
Deliver interoperability with European digital identity schemes.
Perform critical upgrades.
Increase the number of users who successfully pass through the Hub.
Improve reporting and analytics capability.
GDS said in the tender notice posted on the Digital Marketplace, “Verify is committed to certain levels of service level assurance/availability and the on-boarding of both services and identity assurance partners that this work directly supports. Furthermore, we have committed to an increase in uptake targets that need improvements in the system journey to realise.”
GDS added, “Verify is also responsible for the UK governments responsibilities within eIDAS by September 2018. Software service provide the capability that supports the development of tooling.”
The digital partners will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary digital team including user researchers, designers, product and delivery managers.
According to the opportunity, successful suppliers will need to demonstrate:
High capability JAVA (or C#) and Ruby experience
Proven experience with microservice architecture
Proven agile working / devops methodology
Experience of AWS / 12-factor methodology
The latest starting day for the six month contract, to based at GDS’s headquarters at the White Chapel Building, is June 1. |
