Work Detail | Fuel storage and distribution company, Rubis, is reporting a “significant increase” in sales at the pumps since the start of its five-year anniversary loyalty promotion about a week ago. This promotion forms a part of the company’s year-long five-year anniversary celebrations. Speaking to Barbados TODAY as the company launched its Big Five Fuel promotion at its Garrison service station location, retail sales executive Amina Green said she could not disclose exactly what percentage the increase in sales at Rubis pumps was to date, but said she expected sales to continue to grow as the promotions and celebrations continued throughout the year. “We have already seen an increase in sales from the acceptance of our loyalty points. We started the acceptance from August 31. It has only been a week and we have seen an increase in sales. So customers are excited about gaining their points. They are coming to the stations and using their cards,” she said, pointing out that the company had partnered with Massy Card. “Today we are launching the Big Five Fuel promotion, we are also launching the acceptance of Massy loyalty points at all Rubis stations,” added Green. Throughout the day today, motorists had the opportunity to win a number of prizes when they spent $50 at the pumps at the Rubis, Garrison service station. However, at all locations, motorists will have the opportunity to enter for the grand prize when they spend $50 or more. At the end of the eight-week promotion, one lucky customer will walk away with the grand prize of $25,000 – $5,000 in Massy loyalty points, $5,000 in fuel, $5,000 in Sheraton shopping vouchers, $5,000 travel credit from Going Places Travel and $5,000 in cash. Green said the company continued to contribute significantly to the island’s development by employing scores of Barbadians. The company currently has over one dozen service stations across the island. “You can look forward to more fuel stations, more sales and more contribution from Rubis,” said Green. “We have had a good reception since we have been here since 2011, we have improved our fuel additives,” she added. The French-based company is currently constructing a multi-million dollar state-of-the-art headquarters for the Caribbean in Welches, St Thomas, ending years of leasing at the Spring Garden location. Over the past five years, the company has carried out a number of upgrades across the island to the tune of about $100 million. |
