Work Detail | The Rocky Mount City Council will take up an amendment for its fiscal year 2016-17 budget ordinance in during its 7 p.m. meeting Monday. The council is slated to vote on the adoption of the amendment, which increases the annual operating budget in the Powell Bill Fund to reimburse the N.C. Department of Transportation for right-of-way acquisition costs tied to the Kingston Avenue widening project to $457,930. In other business, the council will: ¦ Consider bid for three substation power transformers from Pennsylvania Transformer Technology Inc. at a cost of $1,330,442. ¦ Consider final change order with BCS Contractors Inc. for improvements to Recreation Drive, formerly known as Ring Road. The order increases the contract by $139,333.83 to cover costs of additional stone, undercut excavation and extra asphalt due to poor soil conditions, bringing the contract total to $495,337.27. ¦ Consider $284,000 contract with CH2M Hill North Carolina Inc. for Phase 4 of the Water and Sewer Asset Management implementation Plan. ¦ Consider $309,100 contract with CH2M Hill North Carolina Inc. for condition assessment for sewer outfalls and analysis of sewer collection system and budget ordinance to increase fiscal year 2017 annual operating budget in the sewer fund by $500,000 for engineering work by Beech Branch Outfall related to sewer outfall rehabilitations ¦ Consider the temporary closing of a number of streets from noon Oct. 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 8 for the ninth annual Eastern Carolina BBQ Throw Down. The streets include South Church Street from Andrews Street to Nash Street, Hammond Street from South Franklin Street to Southwest Main Street, Coastline Street from South Church Street to Hammond Street and Southwest Main Street from Nash Street to Hammond Street. ¦ Consider the sale of property on Ravenwood Drive to The Woda Group provided no further upset bids have been received by the bid deadline of 5 p.m. Sunday. The Woda Group offered a high bid of $25,000 for the property. ¦ Consider a memorandum of understanding between the Rocky Mount Housing Authority and the city of Rocky Mount to assign one full-time police officer to work with the Rocky Mount Housing Authority in a public housing officer position. ¦ Consider offer from David W. Stewart to donate properties at 811, 815 and 821 Hammond Street to the city. ¦ Consider fiscal year 2017 Small Urban Capital Grant Agreement from the N.C. Department of Transportation for replacement of two 30-foot vehicles and replacement of one para-transit vehicle requiring matching funds from the city of $170,900. ¦ Consider rescheduling the regular city council meeting scheduled for 4 p.m. Oct. 24 to Oct. 25. The Oct. 24 date conflicts with the N.C. League of Municipalities Annual Conference. ¦ Consider recommendations for appointments to the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission and the Utility Service Review Board. The council also will meet in closed session following the public meeting. The council will meet in the George W. Dudley City Council Chamber of the Frederick E. Turnage Municipal Building. |
