Work Detail | Part of Bernard Avenue will be closed on Monday because of repaving, so you can expect some delays. Motorists heading westbound can expect to be in their cars for a little longer because crews are repaving Bernard Avenue between Lakeview Street and Burtch Road. The closure will happen on Monday from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. The City of Kelowna said during this time there will be no access to Bernard Avenue from Glenmore Road. After 12 p.m., northbound traffic on Burtch Road will not have access to Bernard Avenue and the city suggests motorists use detour routes along Clement Avenue or Highway 97. This construction work is part of the Bernard Avenue water system and road upgrade project. The project started in May and it has included new traffic signals, dedicated right-turn lanes, sidewalk improvements, watermain installation and sanitary system improvements. By Monday evening, Bernard Avenue should reopen to two-way traffic. |
