Three wind projects co-developed by Innergex Renewable Energy and Indigenous partners have been selected in BC Hydro’s latest Request for Proposals for new renewable energy generation. Together, the projects represent a combined capacity of 560?MW. K2 Wind Project: This 160?MW project is located in the Central Interior of British Columbia, 33?km west of Peachland and Westbank. It is being developed in partnership with Westbank First Nation (51% equity) and Innergex (49%). Nithi Mountain Wind Project: Situated in the Bulkley-Nechako region of northern British Columbia, this 200?MW project is being co-developed with Stellat’en First Nation (51%) and Innergex (49%). Stewart Creek Wind Project: Located in the Peace Region of northeastern British Columbia, this 200?MW project is being developed by Innergex (49%) and West Moberly First Nations (51%). The projects are expected to begin commercial operations between 2030 and 2031. Power purchase agreements with BC Hydro are planned to be 30-year take-or-pay contracts, indexed to a predefined percentage of the Consumer Price Index. Project advancement remains subject to final contract execution with BC Hydro and suppliers, as well as permitting and regulatory approvals. |
