Work Detail Coexcas processing plant in the Maule commune now has a covered solar parking lot incorporating more than 1,700 photovoltaic panels, the result of a collaboration with Solarity. This infrastructure positions the company as a benchmark in the implementation of solar solutions in the national agro-industrial sector. Coexca, a pork producer and marketer, and Solarity, a Chilean solar energy company backed by Canadas Brookfield Renewable, inaugurated the largest solar carport in the Maule region, with an installed capacity of 1,075 MWp. The project is located at Coexcas main plant in the municipality of Maule and represents one of the largest installations of its kind in the country. The system, designed, financed, and built by Solarity, consists of a total of 1,700 solar panels over the parking lot. The solar carport has the capacity to supply up to 40% of the plants energy consumption during the summer months, according to the company. The infrastructure also provides shade and protection for parked vehicles, adding an additional operational benefit. Solarcity In October of last year, a 343 kW solar carport developed and built by Solarcity for the headquarters of the aviation company Airbus Chile was inaugurated at the Tobalaba airfield . Last May, the company acquired Enlasas entire distributed generation operation, comprising 32 solar plants with a total capacity of 11 MWp , distributed across six regions of the country. The Chilean solar energy company operates more than 180 solar plants in the country and aims to surpass 200 installations by the end of 2024. The company has also set a long-term goal of reaching more than 1,000 locations in the country and exploring opportunities in international markets. Brookfield Renewable Partners, a Canadian multinational renewable energy company based in Bermuda, acquired a majority stake in Solarity in April 2022 .
