ACEEF acquires remaining stake in Ausines and Veciana projects Ardian has acquired the remaining 35% equity in two Spanish wind farms from Mutua Madrileña, consolidating full ownership through its Clean Energy Evergreen Fund (ACEEF). The Ausines and Veciana wind farms, totalling 56MW, are located in Castilla y León and Catalonia, respectively. Ardian initially acquired a majority stake in the projects in 2018. The deal strengthens Ardian’s Spanish portfolio, which now approaches 250MW of operational wind and solar capacity under its local platform, Agr-Am. “We appreciate the strong partnership with Mutua Madrileña in supporting these assets over the past seven years,” said Federico Gotti Tedeschi, managing director infrastructure at Ardian. “With full ownership now secured, we will continue building on ACEEF’s industrial strategy — focused on long-term value creation and operational excellence,” he said. Ardian said it will use its proprietary data analytics tool, OPTA, to enhance performance across its renewable portfolio. Mutua Madrileña head of alternative investments José Antonio Morales described the joint ownership as a “highly fruitful co-investment” and said the group looks forward to future collaboration. The open-ended ACEEF fund launched in 2022 and reached €1bn in fundraising by July 2023. It targets core renewables and emerging technologies aligned with EU SFDR Article 9 sustainability criteria. Ardian’s infrastructure team manages more than 8GW of thermal and renewable assets across Europe and the Americas. |
