Partnership includes 360MW of solar and wind plus green corridor projects Azerbaijan has signed a comprehensive energy partnership with China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited, covering renewables, grid planning, and training. The agreement was signed during Baku Energy Week by energy minister Parviz Shahbazov and Bo Wang, vice president of China Energy. It formalises commitments made during President Ilham Aliyev’s recent state visit to China and establishes a legal framework for project cooperation. The deal includes joint development of the 160MW Fuzuli solar power plant, a 200MW offshore wind project in the Caspian Sea, and hydropower initiatives. It also supports work on the Green Energy Corridor—a major infrastructure programme to transport renewable power. The agreement further covers cooperation on energy planning, network research, and the creation of a green energy research centre in Azerbaijan. Both parties also committed to developing training programmes to support the country’s growing renewable energy workforce. |
