Work Detail The Municipality of Neuquén City continues analyzing two strategic tenders that will shape the future of the citys infrastructure and urban services: the concession for the new waste collection system and the construction of 800 underground parking spaces at the northern access road. Both initiatives, launched in late 2024, are in the technical evaluation phase by the respective awarding committees. In the case of the underground parking, the project received a single proposal from the Omega company , which submitted a completely private investment initiative. The model proposes a 30-year concession , at the end of which the infrastructure will become municipal property. The development includes a multipurpose space with underground parking, offices, and a food court, while preserving three key sections of the green space: the Dalla Vallentina roundabout, the Diversity Plaza, and the Womens Plaza. According to the Secretary of Infrastructure and Planning, Alejandro Nicola , the preliminary project was submitted along with the technical documentation, and the pre-award committee is making additional requests to the bidder before issuing its opinion. The estimated budget for the project ranges between $8 and $10 million , with a completion period of 360 calendar days from the formal start of work. Meanwhile, the tender for the new waste collection system is also advancing in its evaluation phase. Two companies submitted bids to take over the comprehensive service, which includes residential collection, urban solid waste treatment, and complementary sanitation and cleaning services . The new contract includes operational improvements, expanded coverage, and equipment upgrades . The service is currently provided by the UTE Cliba Ingeniería Ambiental SA – Tecsan Ingeniería Ambiental SA , which has been awarded the contract since 2015. The concession was extended twice: first in 2024 and then again in January 2025, which will remain in place until the new contract is definitively awarded. Meanwhile, the municipality authorized a price redetermination totaling $143 million , corresponding to adjustments for operating increases in January and February of this year. Both tenders are part of a plan to renew urban services that seeks to improve residents quality of life, attract private investment, and consolidate a sustainable and modern city model. The final decisions on both processes are expected during the first half of 2025.
