MISSION OBJECTIVES The technical assistance that we intend to hire will be in charge of carrying out the soil study, the proposal of technical selection criteria and the preparation of vegetable gardens in the communities of Rossó and Pachutico, ensuring that the agronomic conditions allow a viable and sustainable crop. The main objective of this mission is to guarantee the identification and adaptation of 25 family gardens of 50 square meters each (1,250 m² in total), through a process based on technical and environmentally responsible criteria, promoting the participation of the beneficiary families in the implementation of the activity. The specific objectives of the mission are: Carry out a soil study in the communities of Rossó and Pachutico to determine the most suitable areas for the installation of vegetable gardens. Provide technical criteria for the selection of the plots to be worked with, considering the quality of the soil and other key agronomic factors. Accompany and advise on the adaptation of the plots finally selected, ensuring the correct carrying out of ploughing and fertilisation work, following environmentally sustainable practices and promoting the active involvement and strengthening of the agricultural capacities of the beneficiaries. 4. METHODOLOGY The proposed methodology for this technical assistance will be participatory, ensuring that the beneficiary population is informed, involved and consulted throughout the process. The hired agronomist must adopt a collaborative approach, working closely with the beneficiary families, as well as with the CIDEAL and JACARAFE technical team, to ensure the sustainable appropriation of the knowledge and practices implemented. This approach will allow the transfer of key skills in the selection and adaptation of the soil, promoting the autonomy of families in the management of their gardens and ensuring the sustainability of the activity beyond the period of technical assistance. 5. MISSION DURATION The technical assistance will have a total duration of 2 months, distributed in two phases: First month: dedicated to the study of the soil, the identification and proposal of criteria for the selection of orchards, as well as the planning of adaptation activities. Second month: once the plots have been selected, the supervision of the soil preparation work will be carried out, including ploughing and fertilization; and technical support will be provided to the beneficiary families to guarantee the correct execution of the work and the appropriation of the knowledge transferred. 6. DELIVERABLES The deliverables to be presented as part of this technical assistance are: Detailed work plan, describing the milestones and planned activities, including the methodology for the selection of orchards and soil adequacy, with a clear roadmap. Study of the soil and technical criteria for the selection of the land, including the analysis of the soil, the justification of the selected land, the actions to be carried out for its preparation and the technical recommendations for its management. Report on the monitoring of the land conditioning process, with a global analysis of the activities carried out, the results obtained and recommendations to guarantee the sustainability of the implemented gardens. This Report will compile the evolution of the process, comparing the initial and final situation, and detailing the impact of the actions executed. 7. CONSULTANT PROFILE University degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Sciences, Agronomic Engineering or related careers. Proven experience (5 years) in soil studies, selection and suitability of land for crops, with a focus on agroecological and sustainable techniques. Demonstrated experience (5 years) in technical advice and accompaniment to rural communities in the implementation of family or community gardens. Knowledge of fertilization and soil preparation, including the use of environmentally responsible practices. Ability to work with communities in rural contexts, facilitating participatory processes and incorporating a gender and social inclusion approach. Training skills and knowledge transfer to people with different levels of agricultural experience.
