Expression of Interest for Ports and Freight Transport in Tunisia Tunisias ports are vital for its economy. They facilitate more than 90% of Tunisias international trade of the country. Tunisia is also strategically located near the busy Gibraltar-Suez shipping corridor and, hence, has enormous potential for growth by capturing the opportunities in the burgeoning market. However, the Tunisian ports face challenges. Some infrastructural challenges include the lack of a deepwater port and dedicated terminal for container ships. The sector also has procedural and institutional difficulties leading to high dwell time of cargo at ports. Improving port infrastructure and logistics could substantially boost Tunisias international trade and GDP. This activity will create transport models to analyze freight flows in the country and the connectivity of Tunisian ports internationally. The developed models will test scenarios to reduce transportation costs and identify pathways to lower greenhouse gas emissions in the freight sector. Interested firms should submit succinct proposals clearly outlining relevant experience and prior achievements, proposed methodology, anticipated challenges, and mitigation strategies. The final proposal must demonstrate an understanding of the freight sector in Tunisia. Proposals must be under 5 pages. The annex of the proposals must include CVs of up to two key technical staff members directly involved in model development. Please refrain from including senior management CVs. Additional details will be requested from shortlisted candidates. Tender Link : https://wbgeprocure-rfxnow.worldbank.org/rfxnow/public/advertisement/4950/view.html
