Procurement Of Apparatus For Alternator Protection-Relays: 1. Numeric relays of standard make with relay’s software installed in a personal computer Alternator-prime mover set: 2. Three phase Motor-Generator coupled set with variable frequency drive for prime mover speed adjustment. The prime mover can be Induction machine mechanically coupled to an Alternator. Motor, Alternator and variable frequency drive (VFD) are to be of standard make with following ratings. Alternator – Three-phase 2 KVA/2 HP, (400-415) V, 1500 or equivalent RPM. Appropriate arrangement for field excitation is to be placed. The stator winding of alternator needs to have sufficient tapping’s. Induction motor – Three-phase 2 KVA/2 HP, (400-415) V, 1440 or equivalent RPM VFD – IGBT based, 2 HP or equivalent with supply from three-phase or single-phase compatibility. Control panel: 3. Control panel with three phase supply compatibility to accommodate numeric relays, CTs, PTs and all the required digital meters on the panel board. Protection features: 4.
