Apr 2025 Intervention Sector(s): Communications & Media Remuneration range: 3000 to 4000 (USD) Duration of Contract: 1 Years About the Project The Alternative Press Syndicate (APS) is launching the Guardians of Truth: Shielding Journalists and Reshaping Lebanons Media Landscape project to protect journalists and advocate for media freedom. As part of this initiative, we are producing an investigative report on violence against journalists, with a specific focus on the cases of journalists who were brutally targeted and killed by Israel. To support this investigation, we are seeking a journalist/researcher to conduct in-depth research, interviews, and analysis to build the foundation of this report. Role & Responsibilities Conduct thorough research and investigative reporting on violence against journalists in Lebanon. Gather testimonies from affected journalists, families, and legal experts. Collect and analyze documents, reports, and archival material to support the investigation. Work closely with APSs legal and editorial teams to ensure accuracy and journalistic integrity. Produce a well-documented investigative report with strong evidence and compelling storytelling. Adhere to ethical reporting standards and security considerations while handling sensitive information. Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience in investigative journalism or in-depth research on media and press freedom issues. Strong research, analytical, and interviewing skills. Familiarity with Lebanons media landscape, journalist safety concerns, and human rights frameworks. Ability to work independently while coordinating with APSs investigative team. Experience in handling sensitive information and applying security measures in conflict reporting. Prior work on journalist rights, human rights violations, or media law is a plus.
