About Lebanon Innovate Project Lebanon Innovate is a 42-month European Union-funded initiative, aimed at advancing Lebanese research into market-ready innovations in key sectors such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), healthcare, and agrifood. The program is designed to enhance Lebanons entrepreneurial ecosystem, encouraging partnerships between academia and industry, and emphasizing intellectual property protection and international networking to catalyze economic and innovative development in Lebanon. The program aims to: Enhance competitiveness in sectors like agrifood, healthcare, and ICT. Support stakeholder empowerment for knowledge sharing and commercialization. Foster industry-academia partnerships for innovation. Connect with European countries and diaspora networks for global market access. This Terms of Reference (TOR) falls under one of the key activities of the Lebanon Innovate Program, specifically the LIRA Competition that aims at supporting Lebanese researchers in transforming applied academic research that address industrial needs into market-ready products and services. This initiative focuses on three key sectors: ICT, Healthcare and agrifood. The selected projects teams will receive technical and financial support services to advance their research into tangible outcomes. Background During the Incubation Phase of the LIRA Program, six research projects teams have advanced to this stage to develop their innovative projects in the healthcare and ICT sector. These innovations require specialized expertise in market research, business modeling, financial planning, go-to-market strategy, and product development to ensure their successful transition from concept to market-ready solutions. Currently, an IP strategy and prior art search consultant is working with these innovators to define their intellectual property (IP) strategy, assess patentability, and explore technology transfer opportunities. To complement this effort, expert consultants are needed to provide business and market-oriented guidance, enabling the innovators to develop sustainable business models, validate their market potential, and refine their commercialization strategies. This consultancy aims to bridge the gap between research and commercialization by equipping innovators with the necessary tools, knowledge, and strategic direction to enter the market, secure funding, and scale their impact. Each consultant will be expected to actively develop the required strategies, plans, and reports. The objective is to provide the innovators with ready-to-implement business, financial, and market strategies that enable them to secure investments, enter the market, and scale their solutions effectively. To know more about the 6 projects, click on the link below: LIRA Program Winners: Innovation in Progress | Berytech Scope of Work This TOR is specifically for recruiting a consultant to develop comprehensive and viable business models & financial projections for the 6 selected innovators in the healthcare and ICT sectors. The consultant will be working on the following: Develop business models for each innovation project, detailing revenue streams, value proposition, customer segments, key activities, resources and partnerships and scalability and sustainability factors Develop a financial feasibility study, including cost structure, pricing strategy, and revenue model for each innovation. Develop customized financial strategies tailored to each startups goals and market conditions Build financial projections including revenue forecasting and operational costs to support strategic decision-making Identify potential funding sources, including grants, investors, and loans Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies Deliverables The consultant is expected to submit the following: Comprehensive Business Model report for each innovation project. Financial Feasibility Report for each innovation project including: Cost structure, pricing strategy, and funding needs Revenue forecast for the next 3-5 years Identify financial risks and proposed mitigation strategies Funding & Investment Strategy with a list of potential investors, grants, and financing options aligned with each innovations financial needs. Financial Analysis tools to track financial performance Investment pitch deck to attract potential investors Final Presentation summarizing Key strategies and recommendations for each of the six projects. Qualifications Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field At least 5 years of proven experience in developing business models and conducting financial feasibility studies for projects in the healthcare and ICT sectors, particularly with researchers, startups or early-stage businesses. Strong understanding of business model frameworks, revenue models, financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling. Proficiency in creating and managing financial projections, P&L statements, cash flow analysis, and balance sheets Proven track record in supporting startups with fundraising activities, including preparing pitch decks, financial models, and securing investment from venture capitalists, angel investors, or other funding sources Ability to translate financial concepts into practical business strategies for innovators and researchers. Timeline and Application The selected Consultant is expected to start his/her activities at the soonest after selection, and the contracts duration is up to 3 months with a budget of 6,000 EUR Candidates should submit the following documents: Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in the section: Scope of Work, and Deliverables elaborating it further.
