Expression of Interest are invited for Manufacturing of Small Punch Test Specimens The aim of this procedure is to establish a framework contract with an external workshop / company for the manufacturing of Small Punch test (SPT) specimens. JRC.G.4 performs SPT to determine tensile and creep properties of alloys and has significant obligations to deliver such tests within a number of competitive projects (e.g. EASI-SMR, INNUMAT, Open Access projects, ...). JRC.G.I.4 can only do finishing of SPT specimens (grinding & polishing) and this only manually, which requires significant human resources to produce just a few specimens. Thus JRC.G.I.4 aims for a contractor that can produce SPT specimens from bulk material to finished ready-to-test SPT specimens in an automated manner allowing production several dozens of SPT specimens in a few weeks.
