Tender For Proposed Restoration And Conservation Works For Shivna Gate At Ajanta Sillod Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Maharashtra - 1 Excavation for foundation in earth, soil of all types, sand, gravel and soft murum, including removing the excavated material up to a distance of 50 m. beyond the building area and stacking and spreading as directed, dewatering, preparing the bed for the foundation and necessary back filling, ramming, watering including shoring and strutting etc. complete. (Lift upto 0.00 to 1.50 m.) By Manual Means 2 Removal of plants / ficus grown by pulling out root system embedded in masnory, cutting stem and application of high/gur/lime formulation as specified by the Architect or other patented chemical biocide treatment such as biocide "Glycel" (iso proplamine salt of glyphosate) or other chemical as specified by the Engineer in charge etc. complete. 3 Labour charges for removing grass, thorney shrubs, Jungli shrub, Kubabul and alike grass along roadside making the ground clean by showel and phavaras etc. complete. 4 Cutting down trees including trunks and branches with girths above 30cm to 60cm and stacking the materials neatly with all lifts and lead of 1000m as directed and earth filling in the depression / pit if any. 5 Providing and fixing double scaffolding system (cup lock type) on the exterior side of building/structure, including additional rows of scaffolding in stepped manner as per requirement of site, made with 40mm dia M.S.tube, placed 1.5 metre centre to centre, horizontal & vertical tubes joint with cup & lock system with M.S. Tubes, M.S. tube challis, M.S.clamps and staircase system in the scaffolding for working platform etc. and maintaining it in a serviceable condition for execution of work of cleaning and/ or pointing and/ or applying chemical and removing it thereafter. The scaffolding system shall be stiffened with bracings, runners, connecting with the building etc, wherever required, if feasible, for inspection of work at required locations with essential safety features for the workmen etc.,complete as per directions and approval of Engineer-in-charge. Note:- (1) The elevational area of the scaffolding shall be measured for payment purpose. (2) The payment will be made once only for execution of all items for such works. 6 Numbering the monument elements in proper order before lowering down with approved colour and shade as directed by Engineer in-charge, including ladder, scaffolding etc. complete. 7 Providing Soil Bag Support to the monument with contractor´s soil in proper layers carefully as directed by Engineer in-charge including filling, tying and conveying the bags, removing the soil bags after work up to a distance of 50 meter beyond the monument area and cleaning the site etc. complete. (Provided for the gate) 8 Lowering down carefully existing stone masonry of the monument manually in proper order including shifting the stone elements up to a distance of 50 meter beyond the monument area and stacking them as directed by Engineer in-charge, removing building rubbish and cleaning the site etc. complete. 9 Dismantling brick masonry in lime or cement mortar and stacking the materils as directed with all leads, lifts etc. 10 Removing the existing cement plaster / lime plaster of any thickness without causing dust nuisance and stacking the debris upto a distance of 50 metres or spreading in the compound and cleaning the site etc. complete. 11 Removing pointing and other epoxy based hard material from joints and surface area of Basalt stone masonary manually with chisel and hammer or with the help of electric grinders whenever directed by engineer in charge. Proper care should be taken not to damage the stone during removal. 12 Removing brick bat coba including stacking the spoils as directed with all leads, lifts etc, complete. 13 Disposing off/ conveying the dismantled materials of stone masonary/ brick masonary/ concrete/ debris/ excavated material/ soil murrum/ rubbish material / vegetation/ grass/ shrubs, etc from site to 5 km as directed by Engineer Incharge. 14 Providing and laying cast in situ 1:2:4 Lime Concrete of trap/ granite/ quartzite/ gneiss metal for foundation and bedding as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including bailing out water, centring, formwork, laying/pumping, compacting, roughening them if special finish is to be provided, finishing if required with fine aggregate, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller and then mixing with coursed aggregate in drum mixer as per specifications including bailing out water, watering etc. complete. 15 Providing dry/ trap/ granite/ quartzite/ gneiss rubble stone soling 15 cm to 20 cm thick including hand packing and compacting etc. complete. 16 "Providing Ashlar Rough-tooled Masonry of trap / granite stones in lime mortar 1:1½ with size of stone 60 cm. x 45 cm x23 cm. in superstructure as per detailed specifications and drawings or as including the stones be of approved quality, colour, hard and free from defect of any kind, the faces exposed to view shall have fine dressed chisel draft, 25 mm. (1″) wide all around the edges and rough tooled between the drafts, and on all beds or joints, which shall not exceed 6 mm. (¼″), the stones shall be set in mortar, the stone shall be laid in regular course not less than 30 cm. (12″) in height averaging 4½ c. ft., the face stone shall be laid header and stretcher alternately, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, scaffolding, watering and all masonry work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete." ( rate: Pune div. stone rate sr. no. 51) 17 Providing Random Rubble Masonry Second Sort of trap / granite stones in lime mortar 1:1½, in superstructure as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the face and joints of stones to be only hammer-dressed and of pretty equal size on the face, the stones shall be carefully laid and solidly bedded in mortar, the edges shall be dressed with a chisel, every stone shall be carefully fitted so as to form neat and close joints, joints not to exceed 12.5 mm. (½″) in thickness, one header or through stone shall be inserted at least every 0.80 sq. metre (1 square yard), racking out joints where pointing or plastering is to be done and striking joints where no pointing or plastering is to be done, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, scaffolding, watering and all masonry work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete. 18 Providing Ashlar Arching of trap / granite stones in lime mortar 1:1, with size of stone 60cm. x 45 cm. x 30 cm. as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the arch stones be of approved quality, colour, hard and free from defect of any kind, the arch stones in all cases of the entire thickness, the arch stones shall be dressed full and true to their proper shapes with the necessary summering, twist or winding and be set in fine mortar, the intrados, joints and beds to fair- tooled and left full, the cast or keying course to be accurately fitted, at all horizontal joints the intrados to have a 2 cm. (¾″) chamfer, the face stone may be tooled or rock-faced with or without chamfer as directed, in arches up to 60 cm. (2ꞌ) in depth all stones shall be of the full thickness of the ring, arches to be built on proper centring, the bed joints shall be radial and the side joints shall be at right angles to the bed joints and the thickness of the joints shall not exceed 5 mm. (3/16″) preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, cantering/scaffolding, watering and all arch work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete. (Pune div. stone rate sr. no. 46) 19 Providing/Re-setting Brick Masonry Second Class in superstructure of reuse-bricks in lime mortar 1:1½, as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the bricks to be soaked in water for 12 hours before used, the bricks are to be laid flush in mortar in such bond as directed, as far as possible, bricks of uniform colour are to be selected for the face work when it is not to be plastered, the joints are not to exceed 12.5 mm. (½″), no bats or half brick to be used in the work, racking out joints where pointing or plastering to be done, striking joints where no pointing or plastering is to be done, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, scaffolding, watering and all masonry work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete. 20 Providing and laying cast in situ 1:1:4 Lime Concrete of broken brick metal for coping or waterproofing as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including centring, formwork, laying/pumping, compacting, roughening them if special finish is to be provided, finishing if required, with fine aggregate, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller and then mixing with coursed aggregate or surkhi in drum mixer, the concrete must be bitten for two days with pouring water as per specifications, scaffolding, watering and all concrete work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains, etc. complete. 21 Providing Lime Pointing to stone work in lime mortar 1:1 in superstructure , as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including all face or visible work shall be pointed, unless otherwise specified and shall be done while the mortar is fresh, the mortar shall consists of lime and fine sand shall not be ground fine but sand should be finer, the joints of the pointed work shall be neatly defined by the pointing, the lines shall be regular and uniform in breadth and the joints shall be raised or flat as may directed, preparing the lime mortar with 640 gram pulp of wood apple (Belfruit) per cubic metre of lime mortar as a bonding material, scaffolding, watering and all work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete 22 Providing 12 mm. thick Rough Cast Lime Plaster in single coat in lime mortar 1½:1 in superstructure, as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including all joints in masonry and brick work are to be racked out to a depth of at least 20 mm. and the wall to be washed with fresh water and thoroughly wetted for six hours before plastering, the plaster to be applied in an even and uniform coat well pressed in to the joints and to be well beaten for 1½ days with hand tappers, the plaster should also be well sprinkle during the proses of beating with a mixture of 1.10 kg jaggary and 640 gram pulp of wood apple (Belfruit) in 90 to 135 litre of water, the plaster being wetted occasionally with fresh water while the beating is in progress, all exposed angles and junctions with door frame to be carefully finished, all mouldings shall be worked true to template and drawn neat, clean and level, soffits of arches must true arch of circle, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller with 1.60 kg Gugal (a kind of fragrant gum) and 960 gram chopped hemp (fibre of bhendi or tag ) per cubic metre of lime mortar as a bonding material, of lime as a bonding material, scaffolding, watering and all work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete. 23 Providing Fine Coat Of Lime over specifications and drawings or as directed including the finishing coat is to be applied over rough cast plaster and well-polished with trowel, preparing the lime mortar, scaffolding and watering complete. 24 Stucco work in lime , surkhi and sand (1:1:1) as per traditional practices and design, the mortar should be prepared by grinding mill only. The thickness varies from 10mm to 100mm as per design 25 Providing injection grouting with lime and fine screened sand slurry in proporation of (1 : 1) with a proper jet pump pressure including cleaning and washing and packing the existing crack / holes in the brick or stone masnory with lime and finesand paste in proporation of (1:1) properly from down side, filling the slurry in cracks or holes including all necessary actions and required tools and machineries, scaffolding, curing etc. complete. 26 Gently cleaning the surface of stone masonry and piers with specialized water misting techniques employing air water jet using a fine nozzle sprinkling system calibrated to spray fine mist along the stone surface without over wetting followed up by gentle brushing with soft nylon brushes and removing dirt, dust, bird dropping, grease, oil, algae, fungus, monkey beats, vegetable growth etc.as specified. Gentle surface cleaning may include using water misting and mild pH balanced surfactants as specified for indicated areas to remove the surfce dirt, grit accretions by means of water misting and cleaning etc. complete as directed by the Engineer in Charge.(The rate is inclusive of all materials & labours involved except scaffolding). 27 Providing and fixing Stone Paving, Second Sort in lime mortar 1:1½, with size of stone 45 cm. x 30 cm. x 15 cm., as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including all stone slabs to of approved quality, hard, even, sound, durable and uniform thickness, the stones to be not finely chisel-dressed on the surface and the course to be of prescribed width, true for top 25 mm. (1″), the jointsrunning true,the stonestobelaidwith joints notexceeding 8mm.(5/16″)thickandto be evenly and firmly bedded flush in mortar on the concrete and no hollow left, side to be dressed true andaspershapeatleasthalfthedepthfromtheface,preparingthelimemortarinlimemiller, watering and all pavingwork when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete.
