Feb 2025 Intervention Sector(s): Training & Capacity Building Remuneration range: < 1000 (USD) Duration of Contract: N/A Context & Background Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon. About FSC PROJECT The Food System Challenge supports businesses to solve core challenges of the food system in Lebanon, and more specifically in the sectors of dairy and meat production (cow, goat, sheep), cereals and pulses (and its by-products), protected horticulture (Classical green houses, hydroponics, and aquaponics), and domesticated edible herbs and plants. The Food System Challenge is implemented by the World Food Programme (WFP) and Berytech through support from the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Throughout FSCs previous and current cycles, the program supported over 40 SMEs to fortify the Lebanese food system to create a more sustainable ecosystem. Beneficiary background Mills World, a food processing machinery manufacturer, aims to enhance its operational efficiency, quality control, and overall manufacturing standards. Objective The primary objectives of this project are to assess the companys readiness for CE Mark certification and to assist in the preparation of a comprehensive Technical File. Scope of work: The scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to: Identifying applicable EU directives and regulations for the products. Reviewing existing practices, processes, and documentation. Evaluating the companys current level of compliance with CE Mark standards and identify areas for improvement. Advising on compiling and organizing all required documentation, including: Product descriptions and specifications, Design and manufacturing information, Risk assessments and management reports, Test reports and certificates, User manuals and labeling information and Declarations of conformity. Conducting a gap analysis to identify any missing or incomplete documentation. Duration The consultancy is expected to span 1 month, with specific on-site days to be agreed upon based on project milestones and progress. Key Deliverables The consultant/firm will be responsible for delivering a report covering the following: An Assessment report outlining current practices and compliance status. A gap analysis report identifying areas for improvement. An evaluation report on the companys readiness to apply CE Mark standards. A comprehensive Technical File that meets CE Mark requirements. Regular progress reports on the preparation of the Technical File. A final report summarizing the outcomes of the project and recommendations for maintaining compliance. Qualifications: The consultant/firm should possess the following qualifications: Proven experience in preparing Technical Files for CE Mark certification. Strong knowledge of relevant EU directives and regulations. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities. How to apply Timeline And Application The selected Consultant is expected to start his/her activities soon after selection; the exact timeline and effective working days are to be set based on both the companys and the Consultants availability. The total budget allocated for the intervention is about $600. Candidates should submit the following documents. Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs should be included as an annex) along with project references on the topic.
