Archaeological Services – Neuer Markt Urban Space Church Surroundings Of St. Marys Church - Construction-Related Archaeology. For The Construction Project To Redesign The Surroundings Of St. Marys Church In Stralsund, Archeology Accompanying The Construction Of The Route And Path Is Necessary To The Extent Of The Respective Ground Interventions. Remains Of Burials And Possibly Also The Foundations Of The Former Churchyard Enclosure Can Be Expected Here. The Project Is Located In The Old Town Stralsund Excavation Protection Area Directly Around St. Marys Church In 18439 Stralsund. The Area Is Currently Divided Into Green Areas With Existing Trees And Paved Sidewalks. For Details On Planning, Please See The Attached Explanatory Report On Outdoor Space Planning. In 2018, A New Water Pipe From The North Side Of Bleistrasse To St. Marys Church Was Archaeologically Accompanied. Several Burials As Well As Remains Of Walls In The Route Area On Bleistrasse Were Documented. On The South Side Facing Marienstrasse, Remains Of The Former Cemetery Wall And Remains Of Skeletons Were Documented In 1998 And 2016 In Connection With Pipeline And Road Construction Work. Further Documents Can Be Requested From The State Office For Culture And Monument Preservation, Archeology (H.Schaefer@Lakd-Mv.De) Or From The Lower Monument Protection Authority, Mr. Gunnar Möller (Gmoeller@Stralsund.De). Based On The Excavation Guidelines (Guidelines For Archaeological Measures In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania From November 2021), A Scientific Recovery And Documentation Measure Must Be Carried Out With The Aim Of Documenting Findings (In Writing And Images And, If Necessary, In Drawings) As Well As Finds To Be Properly Recovered And Prepared For Handover To The State Office For Culture And Monument Preservation M-V, State Archeology. Burial Remains Should Only Be Inventoried For Further Examination If There Are Any Abnormalities In The Skeletal Material; Otherwise, They Should Be Reburied At One Location After Consultation With The St. Marys Church Administration. This Also Includes Any Necessary Applications In Accordance With Section 12 Of The Monument Protection Act M-V, An Excavation Concept As Well As Coordination With The Responsible Authorities And A Final Report. The Effort Will Be Billed After Completion Of The Work Based On The Timesheet (Construction Diary). At The Moment We Are Assuming Around 640 Working Hours (Including Final Documentation). Please Prepare The Offer On This Basis And Provide Hourly Rates. The Requirement Is Necessary In Order To Ensure That The Offers Can Be Compared. It Must Be Taken Into Account That The Work Must Be Carried Out In Coordination With The Client, The Construction Companies Involved On Site, The Construction Management And The Safety And Health Coordinator. According To Current Status, Construction Is Scheduled To Begin In April 2025. A Construction Period Of One Year Is Planned.
