Expression Of Interest For Consultancy Services For Development Of Technical Guide For Design, Construction And Management Of Climate Resilient Wash Facilities In Public Places With Difficult Terrain Scope Of The ConsultantS Assignment The Scope Of The Assignment Covers The Desk Review Of Existing And Related Manuals In Use By The Field Actors, Development Of Draft Manual Which Include Design With Drawings, Detailed Specifications With Bills Of Quantity, Construction With Step By Step Procedure And Management Of Climate Resilient Wash Infrastructure In Public Places, Consideration On Diversity In Climate And Geomorphology Of Nigeria, Utilization Of Available Local Materials, Validation By The Stakeholders And Ready Document For Production. Under The Direct Supervision And Guidance Of The National Coordinator For Fmwr&S, The Consultant Shall Provide The Following Services, But Not Limited To The Following Activities: I. Desk Review Of Existing/Available Manuals In Use By Various Actors In Nigeria. Ii. Collate And Gather Information From The Policy Makers, Field Practitioners At Deferent Level Of Government, Relevant Ngos And Communities. Iii. Field Visit To At Least 6 States-Ruwasa, Each State In Each Of The Geo-Political Zones Especially States With Identity Difficult Terrain Such Loose Soil With History Of Sanitation Facility Collapse, Prominent Swamp Area And Mountainous/Hills; For Consultation And Collection Of Information On Perceptions And Expectations By Stakeholders As It Relates To Availability Of Relevant Manuals, Its Usage And Likely Deficiencies Or Weakness, Access To Existing Manuals, Likely Challenges, And Opinion On The Expected Manual, Etc. The Visit Shall Include Inspection Of Available Facilities, Challenges, Necessary Materials Samples Collection And Laboratory Analysis. Field Visit Should As Much As Possible Covers The Lgas And Communities; Iv. Discuss In Details Various Sanitation And Hygiene Design Options Including Drawings, Measurements, Specifications And Suitability On Different Climate And Geomorphology. V. Indicate Merit And Otherwise Of Using Each Design Option To End Users. Vi. Make Available Detailed Pictorial Illustration On Operation And Maintenance As Well As Sustainability And Management Procedure. Vii. Provide In Details Local Material In The Region That Could Be Found And Utilized To Achieve Desired Result. Viii. Prepare Bills Of Quantity And Necessary Technical/Engineering Drawing. Ix. The Draft Manual Will Be Submitted To Coordinating Unit (Fpcu) Of Federal Ministry Of Water Resources & Sanitation (Fmwr&S) As Well As To The Selected Stakeholders For Comments Before Validation Workshop. X. Plan For Validation Workshop In An Agreed Venue, Selected Stakeholders With Participants Drawn From Federal, State, Lgas, Ngos And Csos. Xi. Facilitate A Workshop For Relevant Stakeholders To Validate The Document, Collate The Comments. Xii. Incorporate The Comments Into The Draft Manual And Report For Discussion With Fmwr&S. The Duration Of The Assignment Is Four Months. The Federal Ministry Of Water Resources & Sanitation Now Invites Expression Of Interest (Eoi) And Information From Suitable Individual Consultants To Express Their Interest In This Assignment. Interested Consultants Must Provide Information Indicating That They Are Qualified To Perform The Assignment Through Their Curriculum Vitae. The Required Qualifications And Experience Of Consultant Are As Follows; A) The Consultant Must Possess At Least A MasterS Degree In Water Supply And Sanitation, Water Resources Or Any Related Fields; B) A Minimum Of 10 Years Experience In Project Cycle Activities, In Particular Wash Program And Project Design, Engineering Design, Construction And Construction Supervision With Bias In Water And Sanitation Facilities, And Nigeria Climate Effect And Resilient; C) Experience In Technical Manual Drafting And Production. D) Experience In Nigeria Rural Setting Will Be An Added Advantage. E) Relevant Professional Qualification Is An Added Advantage. F) The Consultant Must Have A Good Working Knowledge Of The English Language And The Use Of Computer-Based Microsoft Office And Design Application.
