Feb 2025 Intervention Sector(s): Training & Capacity Building Remuneration range: < 1000 (USD) Duration of Contract: One Day: March 15, 2025 The Michel Daher Foundation, a local NGO, strives to foster an inclusive environment where individuals can reach their full potential. As a community partner, the foundation collaborates with the Idealab program, which aims to enhance the viability of startups in agritech and clean tech sectors. The pitching workshop and interview day comprise a four-hour session dedicated to pitching workshops, followed by two hours of one-on-one pitching mentoring with startups. During the pitching interview, startups will succinctly present their ideas related to agrifood and clean technology, with each pitch lasting three minutes, before a panel of judges. This event serves as an opportunity for youth in the Bekaa region to hone their entrepreneurial skills and devise innovative solutions for the agriculture, food, and clean technology sectors. Scope of Work The Michel Daher Foundation seeks for a trainer to deliver the following: Conduct a networking activity to accelerate the introductions between participants. Train participants on how to build and finetune their business model. Advise the Startups on the structure and design of their pitch deck to convey the information required by investors Train the Entrepreneurs on a 3-minute pitch with visual aids (PowerPoint Pitch Deck) Train the Entrepreneurs on leveraging their Body Language to increase their credibility when pitching to prospective clients or investors Train the Entrepreneurs on dealing with the stressful environment of pitching investors for equity/debt capital injections Expected Deliverables The trainer needs to conduct the following activities before and during the hackathon: Preparation Phase: Coordinate with the MDSF team to agree on the activities and training content. Equip the MDSF team with the knowledge and content they need to support the activities. Final report is to be submitted to Michel Daher Social Foundation, including participant feedback and progress. The main objectives of the pitching workshop are: Develop essential skills for crafting and delivering an effective pitch deck. Learn to tailor messages to specific audiences for maximum impact. Enhance participants ability to communicate the value proposition of their startup idea. Improve participants presentation skills. Pivot their ideas into achievable, realistic, and needed startups. Qualifications Expertise and experience in entrepreneurship and soft skills training. A minimum of 5 years of experience is required. Demonstrable knowledge of the various fields related to pitching, including but not limited to: body language, public speaking, and negotiation skills. An experienced trainer who is comfortable with ambiguity and able to adjust the approach to the specific needs of the participants. Effective communicator with any audience in an organized, professional manner. Creative problem-solver with thorough attention to detail. Desire to deeply understand and empathize with our participants. Prior work experience in the country and Bekaa region. Strong analytical and training skills. Ability to present complex information in a concise and convincing manner and to use innovative forms of communication. Excellent oral and written Arabic and English languages. Detail how you plan to integrate interactive elements into the workshop, including networking activities and personalized one-on- one pitch mentoring. Financial Proposal: Provide a clear breakdown of your total offer in USD, covering session rates, travel, accommodation, and any other associated costs. Outline the payment structure tied to key deliverables, such as payment upon contract signing, completion of the workshop, and submission of the final report. Payment will be processed after approval of the final workshop and report. Note: Without a valid MOF certificate, tax deductions of 3.4% on goods and 8.5% on services will apply, according to articles number 41 and 42 of the income tax law. Step 5: Evaluation Proposals will be evaluated based on: Technical (60%): Methodology, curriculum, experience with youth, and engagement approach for the agrifoodtech and cleantech sectors.
