Building Alteration Work – Repurposing Gouda City Hall. The Town Hall On The Markt In Gouda Is One Of The Most Iconic Buildings In The City And A Cultural-Historical Monument In The Netherlands. The Municipalitys Ambition Is To Give The Town Hall A Stronger Social Significance And To Strengthen The Connection With The City. The Monument Is Now Ready For A Major Approach: Repurposing And Making The Town Hall More Sustainable, Including Restoration And Improvement Of Accessibility. This Project Aims, Among Other Things, To Achieve A Gas-Free City Hall, With A Co₂ Reduction Of At Least 52%. The Work Includes Architectural And Installation Adjustments To The Interior And Exterior, Asbestos Removal, The Restoration Of The West Facade, The Stained Glass Windows And The Slate Roof Covering. Installations Are Being Installed, Including A Heat Pump, To Make The Town Hall More Energy Efficient. In Addition, Accessibility Features Will Be Expanded With A New Lift, Gender-Inclusive Toilets And Improved Signage. The Total Project Includes 1972 M2 Gfa Restoration.
