The Civil Engineering Department Of The City Of Ratingen Has To Renovate The Kleinkauhaus Residential Road In Ratingen-Schwarzbach Due To A Landslide That Occurred At The End Of 2023 And Caused The Road Body To Sink. Based On Various Preliminary Discussions With Representatives Of The Lower Water Authority, The Rheinisch-Bergischer Wasserverband And The Lower Nature Conservation Authority, It Was Requested That The Necessary Renovation Of The Road Only Include The Actual Road Area And The Head Of The Embankment And Not The Western Embankment That Is Part Of The Landscape Protection Area. The Area Of ​​Damage Begins In The Northern Part Of The Kleinkauhaus Residential Street, Approx. 90 M North Of The Confluence Of The Kleinkauhaus Residential Street And Mauerweg Runs Over A Distance Of Approx. 55 M In A South-Easterly Direction. The Damage Appears As A Repeated Landslide. An Earlier Partial Landslide Of The Slope Was Caused By The Vertical Installation Of Individual Sheet Piles On The Western Edge Of The Road, Which Were Connected To Transverse Sheet Piles As Head Protection The Section That Was Critical At The Time Was Renovated. It Was No Longer Possible To Research When The Renovation Measure Was Carried Out. Furthermore, It Is Not Known Which Sheet Piles Were Used And How Deeply They Are Embedded In The Subsoil. Despite The Previously Described Safety Structure On The Western Edge Of The Road, The Current Damage Pattern Shows A Progressive Landslide, Which Has Shifted The Individual Vertical And Horizontal Sheet Piles Down The Valley In A Westerly Direction. As A Result Of The Horizontal Displacement Of The Sheet Piles, The Road Superstructure Both Shifted To The West And Settled At The Same Time. This Led To A Tear-Off Edge Within The Road Superstructure Approximately In The Middle Of The Road With A Height Offset In The Decimeter Range.
