In 2019, The State Parliament Commissioned The State Government To Prepare A Regular Democracy Report On The Situation Of Political Education In North Rhine-Westphalia. The State Center For Civic Education Is Responsible For This Task. The Democracy Report Is Intended To Use An Empirical Basis To Identify Concrete Needs For Political Action And Thereby Strengthen Democracy And The Further Development Of Political Education Offerings. The First Democracy Report Was Published In 2021, And The Countrys Second Democracy Report Was Published In 2023. On The One Hand, The Democracy Reports Are Intended To Enable Long-Term Observations Through Time Series On The Same Questions Of Political Attitudes. On The Other Hand, The State Headquarters, As The Client, Also Wants To Develop A Particularly Current Thematic Focus For Each Report. The Focus Of The First Democracy Report Was Therefore On Attitudes Towards Democracy As A Form Of Government And As A Way Of Life; The Focus Of The Second Democracy Report Was On Voter Turnout And Political Interest At The State Level. The Third Democracy Report Is Intended To Focus More On Questions About The Political Center In All The Complexity Of The Term. For The Cooperative Development Of A Research Design For A Representative Survey, The Analysis Of The Survey Results And Their Classification As Well As The Formulation Of Recommendations For Action For The Further Development Of Political Education Offerings, Scientific Support Has Already Been Commissioned To Oversee The Editorial Review Of The Report And The Presentation Dates. The Contractor Is The University Of Duisburg-Essen, Represented By Prof. Dr. Blatte And Ms. Prof. Dr. Pickel From The Nrw School Of Governance. To Carry Out The Representative Survey, An Independent Opinion Research Institute Must Be Commissioned To Carry Out The Survey With Appropriately Trained Staff And The Necessary Technical Equipment And To Make The Data Available In A Prepared Form.
