Construction Work – Bkp 201 Excavation Of Construction Pits / Demolition Work / Remediation Of Contaminated Sites. Initial Situation The Municipality Of Ittigen Planned The Development Of The Central Rain Center Area, Which Had Existed Since The 1970S And Was Originally Designed For 20,000 Residents. A Master Plan From 2013 Focused On Improving The Outdoor Spaces, With Some Measures Having Already Been Implemented. In 2020, A New Kindergarten Was Built And The Local Council Decided To Build A Meeting Area Instead Of A Parking Lot. The Renovation Of The Triple Sports Hall And The Multi-Purpose Building Was Rejected In Favor Of A New Building Due To Its Poor Condition. A Holistic Rain Master Plan Was Then Created To Ensure Optimal Long-Term Use Of The Area. To This End, A One-Stage Project Competition Was Held For The Construction Of New Sports And Leisure Facilities, Which Called For Innovative, Sustainable Concepts. The Winning Project From Leismann Ag Now Serves As The Basis For Further Planning And Implementation. Objective The Complex In Ittigen Is Located On A Terraced High Plateau And Is Characterized By Loosely Distributed Solitary Buildings And A Fragmentary Avenue. To Strengthen The Main Square, A Two-Story Building Was Integrated As A New Central Point, Which Was Built Into The Existing Triple Gymnasium. An Arcade Room On The West Side Marks The Entrance To The New Center And Creates A Welcoming Atmosphere. The Buildings Were Arranged To Maintain The Permeability Of The Campus And Promote Connections Between The Sports Fields And The Central Square. The Facade Design Reflects The Concept Of Stacking And Joining, With Exposed Concrete Columns And Wooden Facade Elements. Alternating Window Shapes Enliven The Facades And Loosen The Architectural Expression. The Surrounding Area Was Enhanced With Rows Of Trees And New Footpath Connections In Order To Establish Rain-Platz As A Central Meeting Place. Sustainability Was Emphasized Through The Preservation And Selective Loosening Of The Concrete Pavement As Well As The Creation Of New Green Spaces. The Newly Designed Space Offers Space For Various Uses And At The Same Time Remains Flexible To Be Used Temporarily As A Parking Space.
