Project: Tender20349 - Provision Of Emergency Medical Team Services For Mnr . The Objective Is To Ensure The Availability Of Qualified Individuals To Fulfill The Role As A Member Of The Emergency Management Team (Emt) As Paramedics On An “As Required” Basis In Support Of The Ministry’S Fire Management Program. Services May Be Required Anywhere In The Province Of Ontario Based On The Location Of The Incident. The Ministry Provides Base Camps In Remote Locations That Do Not Have Firefighting Facilities Commonly Available. Access To A Base Camp May Be Limited By Road Conditions And Distant From Medical Facilities. The Number Of Personnel On A Project Fire Varies And May Range Between 50 And 500 People Or Perhaps More. The People Involved In Escalated Fire Situations May Be From One Or More Of The Following Groups: • Aviation, Forest Fire And Emergency Services Personnel From Across Ontario; • “Non-Fire” Ministry Personnel From Across Ontario; • Personnel From Other Government Agencies, Provinces And/Or Countries; • Personnel Hired Expressly For The Fire Situation; • Private Industry; And • Contract Personnel From A Variety Of Sources Any Of The Personnel Would Be Dispatched From A Staging Area To The Site. At The Site, Such Personnel Come Under The Direction Of The Incident Commander (Ic). Scope Of Work The Emt Member(S) Must: Respond Promptly To Injuries Or Illnesses On Site; Work Closely With The Other Personnel And Contractors On The Site, Including The Fire Safety Officer, Under The Direction Of The On-Site Ministry Representative; Lead The Assessment Of Injuries And Illnesses, Triage And Transport If Required, Emt’S Are Not Intended To Replace The Land Or Air Ambulance Services Available; Provide The On-Site Ministry Representative With Detailed And Timely Reports And Documentation Regarding Injuries And Illnesses And The Required Treatment, Mobilization And Management Thereof. The Emt Services Are Described In Further Detail In Section 2.1.14. The Emt Will Take Up Residence At The Site During Its Scheduled Rotation. The Emt Will Normally Be At The Identified Physical Location On A 24-Hour Basis And Will Be Expected To Be “On-Call” To Provide 24-Hour On-Site Assessment And Support For Injuries And Illnesses.
