Environmental Services – Species Assistance Program For Pioneer Amphibians (Green Toads And Green Toads). Development Of A Species Assistance Program (Ahp) For The Pioneer Amphibians Natterjack Toad (Epidalea Calamita) And Green Toad (Bufotes Viridis), Which Are Highly Endangered In Saxony-Anhalt, And Whose National Conservation Status (Ehz) Has Continuously Deteriorated In The Biogeographical And Atlantic Region Of Saxony-Anhalt Over The Past Decades According To The Current State Assessment (2024) As “U2 – Unfavorable/Poor”. Is Assessed As Having A Worsening Trend. The Requirements Of The Habitats Directive, According To Which A Favorable Ehz Must Be Secured Or Restored For All Species In Annexes Ii And Iv, Result In The Need For The State Of Saxony-Anhalt To Take Measures To Improve The Ehz For Both Species. The Ahp Advertised Here Is Intended To Create The Technical Basis For Area-Specific Measures To Improve The Nationwide Ehz And Includes A Nationwide Measurement Table Mapping Of The Remaining Populations, The Identification Of Important Source Populations As Well As The Derivation Of Area-Specific Measures As Well As Measures For The Reconnection Of Populations. Once Completed, The Ahp Should Provide A Reliable Technical Basis For All Nature Conservation Actors (Authorities, Associations, Volunteers) As Well As Mining Operators In Order To Be Able To Implement Suitable, Low-Threshold And Area-Specific Standard Measures That Are Necessary To Achieve A More Favorable Ehz. The Subject Of This Call For Tenders Is The Nationwide Mapping Of Natterjack Toad And Green Toad Populations On A Measuring Table Basis And The Development Of The Pioneer Amphibian Species Assistance Program With The Above-Mentioned. Partial Aspects In 2025, 2026 And 2027. In Addition, Typesetting And Printing Of The Ahp Will Be Offered As An Optional Service. Nationwide Mapping Of Natterjack Toads And Green Toads The Last Surveys Of Amphibians That Allowed Conclusions To Be Drawn About The Nationwide Distribution Of Natterjack Toads And Green Toads Were Carried Out In The Years 2009 To 2012 As Part Of The Surveys On Current Herpetofauna (Grosse Et Al. 2015). Green Toads And Green Toads And Their Preference For Pioneer Habitats Are Highly Dynamic Species Whose Occurrence Is Unstable And Is Particularly Affected By Succession-Related Habitat Loss. This Means That Data On The Distribution And Population Of These Species Become Outdated Within A Short Period Of Time And Are No Longer Reliable.
