Environmental Services – Species Assistance Program For Pioneer Amphibians (Green Toads And Green Toads). Development Of A Species Assistance Program (Ahp) For The Pioneer Amphibians Natterjack Toad (Epidalea Calamita) And Green Toad (Bufotes Viridis), Which Are Highly Endangered In Saxony-Anhalt, And Whose National Conservation Status (Ehz) Has Continuously Deteriorated In The Biogeographical And Atlantic Region Of Saxony-Anhalt Over The Past Decades According To The Current State Assessment (2024) As “U2 – Unfavorable/Poor”. Is Assessed As Having A Worsening Trend. The Requirements Of The Habitats Directive, According To Which A Favorable Ehz Must Be Secured Or Restored For All Species In Annexes Ii And Iv, Result In The Need For The State Of Saxony-Anhalt To Take Measures To Improve The Ehz For Both Species. The Ahp Advertised Here Is Intended To Create The Technical Basis For Area-Specific Measures To Improve The Nationwide Ehz And Includes A Nationwide Measurement Table Mapping Of The Remaining Populations, The Identification Of Important Source Populations As Well As The Derivation Of Area-Specific Measures As Well As Measures For The Reconnection Of Populations. Once Completed, The Ahp Should Provide A Reliable Technical Basis For All Nature Conservation Actors (Authorities, Associations, Volunteers) As Well As Mining Operators In Order To Be Able To Implement Suitable, Low-Threshold And Area-Specific Standard Measures That Are Necessary To Achieve A More Favorable Ehz.
