To achieve the program objectives, GATE Lebanon seeks to work with individual experts and consultants to provide field and in-door training sessions across various locations in the target region (Akkar). Training Topics: Each of the topics below must be costed separately in EURO and broken down by training day and preparation day. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Pruning Grafting Spraying Ploughing Harvest Techniques Post-Harvest Training Veterinary Services Safe Use of Agricultural Tools Scope of Work: Curriculum Development and Material Preparation (in Arabic): Develop training material for each session as per the following topics: a) IPM: Techniques such as biological control, habitat manipulation, cultural practice adjustments, beneficial insects, and use of resistant plant varieties. Integrated pest management strategies for fruit trees, greenhouses, and vegetables. b) Agricultural Practices: · Grafting, pruning, spraying, harvesting, and post-harvest processes. Training of Trainers (TOT): Knowledge Assessment Tools: Conduct one full day of TOT (two sessions) for agriculture engineers in Akkar on: IPM: From selecting field demonstration plots and monitoring traps to full implementation of IPM practices. Soil and water sampling techniques. Coordination: Prepare pre- and post-tests (710 questions) for each session to assess farmers knowledge. Evaluate test results and submit recommendations for adjustments to the training. Training Delivery: Agree on schedules, curriculums, times, and dates of sessions with GATEs Field Operation Officer. Support, Logistics, and target group of trainees: Conduct up to 2 training sessions per day, including both theoretical and practical exercises (indoor and/or field-based). Each session should last 23 hours. Post-Training Reporting: GATE Lebanon will manage invitations of farmers beneficiaries, training locations, and workshop logistics. Submit a narrative report after each training, detailing challenges, feedback, lessons learned, and any recommended adjustments to improve future training.
