Construction Work – Mehrspur Zurich – Winterthur, Project Part 240 Gu Shell Construction Tunnel, Construction Work. As Part Of The “Mehrspur Zürich–Winterthur” Project, The Confederation And Sbb Are Planning A New Double-Track Line Through The Brütten Tunnel As Well As The Development Of The Dietlikon, Bassersdorf, Wallisellen And Winterthur Töss Stations. This Work Will Make It Possible To Remove The Current Bottleneck Affecting The Rail Network Between Zurich And Winterthur, And To Carry Out The Necessary Reorganization Of The Offer. The Centerpiece For Meeting The Capacity Constraint Between Zurich And Winterthur Is The Brütten Tunnel Of Around 8.3 Km And The Branch Of Around 1 Km To Zurich Airport. For This Underground Doubling Of The Track, A Single-Track Tunnel With An Internal Diameter Of Approximately 8.3 M Will Be Built In Each Direction. Access To The Tunnel Will Be Available To The North Of Dietlikon Station And Another To The East Of Bassersdorf Station. They Will Meet Underground At The Mülberg Bifurcation And Will Resurface Before Winterthur, At Tössmühle, In A Portal Structure Crossing The Kempt. The Two Single-Lane Tunnels Will Be Connected By Twenty Transverse Connections Spaced At Most 500 M Apart. In The Event Of An Event, These Will Allow Travelers To Take Shelter By Passing Into The Opposite Tube. At The Three Points On The Ground, The Cross Connections Will Also Be Combined With Railway Buildings Allowing Access From The Surface.
